Hold Me Close was created during a quiet return to painting, a moment of returning — to painting, and to myself.
 
I didn’t rush it — I let each layer sit. I kept coming back to the water, the cool blues,
and little moments around me that slowed things down.
 
Hold Me Close is really about staying with that quiet feeling.
 
I started painting this after taking a break… and somewhere in the process, I felt like myself again.
I wasn’t trying to get anywhere — I was just painting, slowly, listening to the colors and the water.
It felt comforting… familiar.
 
That feeling stayed with me, and that’s why I titled this piece Hold Me Close.”
