Hi!Get to Know me

Hi, I'm Amita; a self-taught artist from Hubli, India.
I always wanted to pursue art because that would make me feel content.
But I ended up doing engineering and subsequently a corporate job.
What started off as a hobby close to my heart, turned into a part of
my daily life when I quit my job in the corporate back in 2010. When life
gave me another chance at being an artist, I couldn't have asked for more.
With no formal art education, I loved spending hours and hours experimenting
with different mediums and techniques and eventually learning on the way.
Being a self-taught artist, there has been room for a huge amount
of experimentation and tinkering, which is something I look forward to.
Sitting there in my studio for hours, I believe I tend to have a very intimate
connection with the canvas. I think that art exceeds the boundaries
of language and interpretation. Being an intuitive artist, I love free-flowing
brushstrokes, abstract compositions, new ideas and styles.

I've been fond of water lilies , lotus, and landscapes filled with
flora since I was a kid and now when I see my artworks
garnering attention and recognition, I feel grateful.

Works held in private collections across India, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, United States, United Kingdom, Dubai, Qatar, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Portugal, etc.

I'm hoping that my art communicates with you as well.
